In 1988, Michel Lacerte opened Vélo plein-air Vaudreuil at 446 Roche Blvd (now St-Charles Ave). A teacher, Michel meets his clients evenings and week-ends during the school year then full time during the summer. Already a road bicycle specialist, he is a founding member of the Club de cyclisme le Suroît. The Club was primarily a road racing team at the time.

1990 sees a move to 24-1 St-Charles a space four times larger than the initial location. Michel Bourbonnais becomes a partner which makes it possible to keep the store open year round. The company becomes Cycles Suroît Inc.

1992 a new partner, Richard Germain comes on board. Another and final move to the 136 St-Charles takes place in 1993. Isabelle Gaudreault partners with Michel Bourbonnais and they become sole owner of the shop.

1996 to reflect the specialties of the shop, it is renamed Le Suroît cycle et ski.

1998 a fire destroys the main floor causing several tens of thousand of dollars in damage. We rolled up our sleeves, rebuilt the store and reopened in November

2008 marked the 20th anniversary which we celebrated by renovating the sales floor.

Over the years, many changes and improvements were made to better serve our customers. Going from 400 sq feet to more than 3000 sq feet, with a staff of 5 full time and 4 to 6 part-time employees, Le Suroît cycle et ski has become a major regional player in the fields of cycling and XC skiing.

Our Mission
Le Suroît cycle et ski has been a meeting place since 1988. Cyclists, XC skiers, friends, neighbours and family gather here to share their love for these activities. To all of them, we wish to offer products and services of excellent quality for a fair price.

Cycling club "Club de cyclisme le Suroît" : Over the years the shop has participated to the growth of the Club and is still the permanent address for the Club.

Triathlon club "Club de triathlon Tri-O-Lacs" : We have been supporting both morally a nd financially Tri-O-Lacs since the early days of tha Club.

Speed skating club "Club de patinage de vitesse des 3 Lacs" : Financial and technical partners since its foundation, Le Suroît cycle et ski supports the physical development of our youth year round.

Running club "Club d'athlétisme de Vaudreuil-Dorion" : Supporter of our elite, we applaud the effort of these young runners and their coach.

Recreation center "Base de plein air des Cèdres" : Our regional outdoor recreational center. Year after year, we offer free waxing clinics on the site.

Canadian Ski Marathon : Member of the waxing team for more than 10 years.

We also offer our technical support to many local events.
